Event Description
United States of America vs. The State of Arizona & Governor Jan Brewer
Request for a preliminary injunction (preventing SB1070 from going into effect until after the outcome of the lawsuit).
Hearing is to begin at 10:00am. Opposition plans to arrive at 9:00am.
We should be there at 8:00am or sooner.
Bring your signs, flags, and your umbrella. This will certainly make the news, so be ready with your arguments as well. Take the day off if you can. This is an all-hands-on-deck meeting! There will be more events to come, and we need to be poised to react as soon as the information is available.
Location: 401 West Washington Street, on the southwest corner of 4th Avenue and Washington Street. We will meet on the courtyard.
Parking is on 4th & Washington, directly across from the courthouse on East side of 4th ave. Full day may be up to $25. Other parking is a little bit north from the courthouse, lots run by private owners. Rapid and express routes for Valley Metro both stop on Washington and Jefferson, directly in front of the building.
Light rail is a 4 block walk, and Capitol is walking distance as well.

Due to ill health cannot attend. Pray that the good judge will uphold the State's right to protect its citizens SB 1070, according to the Constitution. Federal Government is not enforcing the existing Law. How is the Federal Government protecting our border by posting signs warning American citizens not to enter lands that belong to the USA. This only gives the drug dealers, illegals and other dangerous people a safe haven to evade our Country.

According to Title 18 of USC - Cannot carry on courtyard, but okay on street. If you plan to carry a weapon, you will need to remain on the sidewalk. Thanks!

the plaintiffs in this case are david salgado and chicanos por la causa. it is their motion for a preliminary injunction. the defendants (brewer, etc) filed a motion to dismiss.
