We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Funny I read the Constitution over and over this weekend and have yet to find; We the Government of the United States.
President Barack Obama wants Israel to move its borders back to existing borders before the 1967 Middle East war. Is it because of his Muslim back ground or that he just don’t get it. It seems to be a past time with Barack Obama to upset America’s closest allies. I wonder what hidden motive he has there.
Trillions in bailouts to Wall Street, an economy on the rocks with gas prices and other commodities wild, a federal debt load surpassing $14.2 trillion, foreign crises brewing . . . can you trust President Obama and Congress? That is an easy answer, even for some of you. My fourth grader even has it figured out.
There is about 10.8 million Illegal Immigrants in the United states that you Mr. & Mrs. tax payer are paying for. They don't pay taxes; they get food stamps and medical for free. They have moved into the job market at full speed, here are just a few. Wal-Mart construction all phases, gas stations, bakeries, restaurants, food processing plants that are just in the United States. Now take a look at the job loss to outsourcing. I don't think there is hardly a company now that isn’t outsourced its work force to China, Philippines, Mexico, and India. You do the math; it doesn’t take rocket scientists to figure out how many jobs have been lost in the United States. This has to stop.
I get damn mad when I hear that they want to cut Social Security for the older folks. I know you have heard its going broke and it is costing too much. But here is something you maybe don’t know; The Treasury Department "borrows" surpluses in the Social Security trust funds for use across the federal government. As a practical matter, the amount of money borrowed equals the balances in the trust funds after benefits are paid out. Two funds exist: one for disability benefits and a much larger one for retirement benefits. The surplus in those funds at the end of fiscal 2007 (Sept. 30, 2007) was about $2.2 trillion, all in non-marketable U.S. Treasury bonds. The bonds now earn about 5 percent interest. Last year the government paid $110 billion in interest to the trust funds. This practice began in 1937 with the creation of the Social Security system during Franklin D. Roosevelt's administration. That first year the government paid $2 million in interest on money it borrowed from the retirement trust fund. The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration. It's time to start cashing them in. For more than two decades, Social Security collected more money in payroll taxes than it paid out in benefits — billions more each year. Not anymore. This year, for the first time since the 1980s, when Congress last overhauled Social Security, the retirement program is projected to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes — nearly $29 billion more.
Sounds like a good time to start tapping the nest egg. Too bad the federal government already spent that money over the years on other programs, preferring to borrow from Social Security rather than foreign creditors. In return, the Treasury Department issued a stack of IOU's — in the form of Treasury bonds — which are kept in a nondescript office building just down the street from Parkersburg's municipal offices.
But let’s face it with all the money it took from Social Security, if they would have had a good portfolio going instead of spending that money like any good businessman does, we would never be talking about Social Security. But whatever the Government touches it messes up. That brings me to my next point.
We need to stop having career politicians; they get way to comfortable if they spend too many years in Washington. They forget that they are working for the people and do their own agenda. Over the years we the people have let our politicians sell us out to special interest groups. Not what was good for the country, but what was good to line the pockets of greedy men. Thank God the silent majority is starting to wake up and smell the coffee. But is it too late and too little that is a question, yet to be answered. When we the people; put a man in office of President, that doesn’t have much of a background in anything to speak of. Obama served three terms as a State Senator before getting elected to the U.S. Senate. Before that he taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He was a civil rights lawyer and community organizer in the years after college. Facts: The University of Chicago released a statement on Thursday saying Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) “served as a professor” in the law school—but that is a title Obama, who taught courses there part-time, never held, a spokesman for the school confirmed on Friday.“He did not hold the title of professor of law,” said Marsha Ferziger Nagorsky, an Assistant Dean for Communications and Lecturer in Law at the school, on East 60th St. in Chicago. What we really need in office is a man that will get things done. A man that is not part of the Washington crowd and a man that isn’t afraid to make an unpopular decision. A man that isn’t afraid to grow a set and a man that know something about how a business is to be run. Well maybe that is asking to much…
