There are many things we can do with this group.  With the number of members we have, we are bound to have enough to put together groups like:

A fife band

A stage band

A chorale group

LD22 has their own stage band made up of precinct committeemen - Eddie Cook plays bass guitar, and he was the one elected to the GIlbert Town council outright in the primary.  They played for us at a campaign event for the conservative candidates, which was quite fun!  Let's do something like this for GPTPP!

If you are interested, post a message and let us know what you can do!

PS.  Chris Rossiter plays a mean electric guitar!

Do we have any bass players or drummers?  Keyboard perhaps?

I would like to host a gathering of the musicians on a Friday night if possible. Get a feel for each musician and plan some rehearsals. If 7 PM Fri. 12th or 19th works for you let me know. I play lap steel. have keyboard & PA.

Gang...I guess I am the contact for this thing to get it moving.  I apologize it is taking so long but we have so many fronts that we are involved in right now with the Quartzsite issue and the upcoming Presidential debate that we were asked to participate in, and a million other things.  I will send out an email to all of the group members tomorrow with a list of needs for what appears to be two different groups.  Based on what we've done so far there is a lot of talent and a lot of promise.  Thanks, Chris

I don't have a preference for either location but hope someone takes the bull by the horns and gets this party started-i think it is a great idea-north phx I may be able to get a keyboard/drummer but need to have specific info before asking...

As of now there are two distinct groups being formed. One is in Mesa, the other in N. Phoenix. I don't know the progress of the Mesa group, but I have only had one person contact me regarding the Phx.group. I believe I have chord charts for the Mesa groups selections, but until there are actually some players who want to rehearse, I am not putting any effort into song selection or chord charts for the Phx group. I spent 40 years as a working pro and take the music seriously, but I want to have fun playing. Let's get this show on the road!

Hi Guys - I am having trouble following this thread - for some reason it seems all over the place - is there any plan to get a group going?  Who is actually the contact for the group?  Thanks for clarifying - I have all sorts of Mics and a keyboard, bass, guitar, serveral saxes and a PA system - if we need anything to get going let me know - with enough practice I can play just about anything.

Thanks Kelly, that makes it easier to clean up the chord charts.

The Jewel song is the same version as she sings on the Holiday album.  It is the most conservative of them all.

I did receive the chord charts, now the question being....which recording they were made from and which one we are doing? This is crucial on the Jewel song, as I have heard her play it four different ways, so far.

I am open to providing the rehearsal space, but each individual needs to contact me regarding a time and day.

I have requested chord charts for the songs, but have received nothing so far. I have a rehearsal space and am right off the 51 & Cactus. For those interested in some serious playing, call me at 602-992-4578.

My main genre is western swing, but I have played everything from old standards to 50-60's rock & roll, blues, old & new country, and plenty of nonsense along the way. I play guitar, bass & lap steel.

Come on folks, either we get serious about this, or I'm on to greener pastures.
