There are many things we can do with this group.  With the number of members we have, we are bound to have enough to put together groups like:

A fife band

A stage band

A chorale group

LD22 has their own stage band made up of precinct committeemen - Eddie Cook plays bass guitar, and he was the one elected to the GIlbert Town council outright in the primary.  They played for us at a campaign event for the conservative candidates, which was quite fun!  Let's do something like this for GPTPP!

If you are interested, post a message and let us know what you can do!

PS.  Chris Rossiter plays a mean electric guitar!

Do we have any bass players or drummers?  Keyboard perhaps?

This is the edition of the Anthem that I really like and the tempo and spirit that makes sense to me.  You can do this same arrangement A Cappella with mixed voices, men's voices or women's voices.

I can do a reasonable job on bass and could put the effort on A Cappella National Anthem together.  I taught choral music for 38 years.

Just tell me when and where!

How about we start off with the basics - standards like National Anthem, God Bless the USA, America the beautiful then pick up some current songs - I can think of a few country songs - Toby Keith - new - Made in America, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue, Alan Jackson - Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).  Do we have enough singers to do an acapella version of the National Athem in harmony?  I am kind of a jack of all trades - could do some guitar, bass (with practice) and keyboard (rhythm), sax (all, main instrument), sing (love harmony like the Jackson Brown band, Rascal Flatts).  Will help in any way needed.  We probably can work up some other songs - not necessarily 'patriotic' in case we need to do a gig for a couple hours...  How bout music from the 50's, 60's etc?

That's the spirit!  Let's start getting together again.  My kids are on Fall break so this upcoming week is out, but after that I'm game.  Also, I'm in Chicago / Milwaukee from Oct 26-30 (headed up there to whip their a' in shape) so I can't do it then either.    So throw out some times/dates/location and let's firm it up.  Thanks guys, you're the greatest!

Time waits for no bass player! I can cover bass,(as that is my first inst,), but only until a full time bass player arrives on the scene. Can anyone make a compilation CD of the material that we need to learn? If not, I can, but I will need the specific recordings that we are referencing.
