592,177 Registered voters in Phoenix

It seems to me too many people in Phoenix didn't care enough to vote on election day, considering that out of the 592,177 registered voters in the city Wes Gullet got 64,479 votes and Mr. Stanton got 82,399 votes. Less than 150,000 voters decided our next mayor.

Voting help?

Does anyone out there have opinions or info on the candidates running for CENTRAL AZ WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT?

Same for the Tolleson Union #214 H.S. Governing School Board Member. Opinions? Thoughts on the candidates?

Keeping An Eye On The Other Side:

From the Communist Party Website:

If the grand alliance that elected Barack Obama comes out in full force to vote we can stop the Tea Party/Republican takeover, continue moving forward and push further for green jobs, union rights, health care and the safety net for the common good.

If voters fail to turnout, the Tea Party/Republican “Promise to America” alternative is clear: continued tax breaks for the top richest two…

St Nicholas Church

I did not know or perhaps I'd forgotten that St Nicholas Church was destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001 by the collapsing World Trade Center's Tower 2. Now I don't know all the facts about this church and why it hasn't been rebuilt or even if it is going to be rebuilt but I intend to learn all I can. I do find it curious with all the uproar about a mosque being built near Ground Zero that there is a church that once stood as close to this sacred ground as could be possible and yet it remains but a…

Audit the Federal government!

This was back in 2001: "According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

Today we read this gem: The U.S. Defense Department is unable to properly account for over 95 percent of $9.1 billion in Iraqi oil money tapped by the U.S. for rebuilding the war ravaged nation, according to an audit released Tuesday.

What is going…

Sale Of Convent To Muslim American Society

Statement on Saint Margaret Mary Parish

Father Keith Fennessy, pastor of Saint Margaret Mary parish on Staten Island, announced in June that after careful consideration he was withdrawing his support for the planned sale of the parish convent to the Muslim American Society.

The trustees of the parish have met, as legally required under New York State law, and voted to… Continue

HCR and the IRS

Assuming HCR becomes law, the Congressional Budget Office expects the IRS will need roughly $10 billion over the next 10 years and nearly 17,000 new employees to meet its new responsibilities under health reform. Is This True???

Rove on the TPM's role

Karl Rove commenting his opinion on the Tea Party Movement's role in the current political season:

"It should continue to do what it does, which is to keep the feet of politicians of both parties to the fire about questions of deficit and debt and spending, and let their members make their own determination as to where they want to take their political energy."

Frustrated, and feel the need to rant!

I am tired and disgusted with all members of the Congress of the United States as well as all members of the House of Representatives. In 2008 an historic election occured giving the American people Barack Obama as our president. BTW, I did not vote for Obama. That election also was important to me as it got me "off the couch" and involved in politics as I had never been involved before. Currently health care is the big topic across the land and in Washington D.C. but instead of a…

Mitt Romney comment on the TPM

Comment is from a Newsmax interview.

The tea party movement will have a serious impact on the November elections, according to Romney.“I’m really pleased that the silent majority is silent no longer,” he declares. But he cautions that if a conservative tea party candidate runs in a general election, that would siphon votes away from a Republican candidate, and “divide and fail is the result. “That would hand over the country to Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and…

Support Sen. Judd Gregg's efforts.

Sen Judd Gregg (R-NH), the senior Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, which holds jurisdiction over reconciliation bills, called the health-care legislation "a giant asteroid headed at the Earth." He pledged to offer an exhaustive array of parliamentary challenges when the reconciliation package comes before the Senate.

"It's going to be a very difficult exercise," Gregg said. "House members who are relying on reconciliation to correct concerns with the Senate bill should think…

The following news item illustrates why I distain politics: The Senate on Tuesday passed a $10 billion measure to maintain unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless and provide stopgap funding for highway programs after a holdout Republican dropped stalling tactics that had generated a Washington firestorm.…
