Reality of Government Run Health Care

In 1972, I went to work in a hospital run by the government, the Pima County Hospital, in Tucson AZ. It was an experience beyond anything one could imagine.

I had just graduated from a nursing program and this was my first job. I sought this job because I had been a patient in the County system, while going to school and felt it was my way of giving back some of what I had received.

Working for the county was like working on the "Good Ship Hope." We often improvised for supplies and… Continue

Treaty of Copenhagen-petition mentioned on Beck's show Friday

Important Notice for America's Future

The draft Treaty of Copenhagen, to be signed in mid-December 2009, would create an unelected world government with direct power over all financial and trading markets, and direct power to intervene over the heads of elected governments in the economic and environmental affairs of all nations that sign the Treaty. The word "government" actually appears in the Treaty as the first of three purposes of a huge, new, supranational bureaucratic entity that… Continue

Can't Find Any Warming? We'll Just Turn the Graph Upside Down

Over at climate-skeptic.com today, I have an amazing story that really illustrates how hollow the "settled science" mantra is in climate. Michael Mann became "famous" for creating the "hockey stick," the thousand year temperature reconstruction that purports to show temperatures amazingly flat for century after century until they leap up in the last 50 years.

Under severe criticism for his statistical methods and choices of proxies in his original hockey stick analysis, Mann has… Continue

Now they try the fast track again!!!

As the emailer Paul Rever has warned us, the countdown to a house vote is in only 1 week for a vote on the (not read) 1990 page healthcare bill with the public option attached.

These "representatives" still don't understand they work for us!

Now is the time for swift action!!

Email your representatives, call them, and email everyone you know to do the same.

Their arrogance must be stopped for the sake of our great… Continue

Attorneys vs Tort Reform

This makes sense. This also reinforces the notion that, No More Lawyer / Politicians Need Apply.

There is much that can be done to make our health care system more efficient. Tort reform is a great place to start, says Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, the associate dean of clinical education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

The experience in Texas, where there is a law capping payments for pain and suffering to $250,000, suggests some… Continue

Greenpeace Be Damned

Here is an interesting article about the Greenpeace movement. Read the introduction, and if you do not want to read about the mindset, skip the elephants, but read the last part. After all these years, these guys still want to control my choice. They are a minority. A very small minority. It IS the economy stupid.…

Don't Panic! Why Global Warming is Exaggerated

I cover this kind of thing much more at my other blog, but I thought I would introduce myself to this community with some basics of the science of the skeptic side on climate.

I often make a wager with my audiences. I will bet them that unless they are regular readers of the science-based climate sites, I can tell them something absolutely fundamental about global warming theory they have never heard. What I tell them is… Continue

How Does The World See America?

We rarely get a chance to see another country's editorial about the USA

Read this excerpt from a Romanian Newspaper. The article was written by Mr. Cornel Nistorescu and published under the title 'C'ntarea Americii, meaning 'Ode To America ') in the Romanian newspaper Evenimentulzilei 'The Daily Event' or 'News of the Day'.

~An Ode to America ~

It's Not Rocket Science

A woman in a hot-air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west… Continue

Early Voting Vs. Complacency

When you are out and about in your local area, take the time to become a Tea Party Steward. The public needs to learn the benefit of permanant mail-in voting, which eliminates the "only voting in the major election cycles", and eliminates the shoving through of special school override and bond issues where nobody votes.

Last night at a neighbor's house, upon bringing up the school override tax, I became aware of the fact that we are not getting this message to the voting public. Please… Continue

Federal Budget Deficit: $1.42 trillion

Every man, woman and child in the United States times $47 hundred dollars equals the federal budget deficit for 2009, more than three times the most red ink ever amassed in a single year. Crazy.

"You, sir, in the blue jacket, I need help. Call an Ambulance!" Part 1

Specific, direct and unambiguous.

Our message(s) - wherever we are taking up the cause - should also have all 3 attributes.

There is no doubt we have the zeal. And I believe we have the dedication as well. However, vital time is slipping away, and we seem stuck somewhere between pushing down on the gas to beat the red light and resting our foot on the brake even while the light is still green.

Our problem is that we are not on the same page in how we go about… Continue
