Call your Representatives and tell them to vote NO on SB1402!

My Fellow Tea Party patriots, I'm asking that you contact your State Representatives and tell them to vote NO on SB1402.  This legislation would provide specialty license plates for various organizations, which among them would be a Don't Tread on Me plate and a TEA Party plate.  Please understand that I am not opposed to organizations requesting to have plates made to promote their causes, HOWEVER, I am opposed (and we all should be) to the TEA Party requesting this.
This goes against what the TEA Party stands for...SMALLER GOVERNMENT.  This would CREATE ANOTHER GOVERNMENT APPOINTED COMMITTEE!
PLEASE read this legislation.  I've attached a link to a PDF file of the current bill. There is an amendment to this bill but it doesn't affect the 2 plates I'm bring attention to.

If passed this would create a board of 5 who would then distribute funds from the sale of the plates to various Tea Party groups who would apparently have to apply for the funds.  The President of the Senate would appoint 3 people and the Speaker of the House would appoint the remaining 2.  Why do we need the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House appointing a government committee to distribute money to various Tea Party groups?  What if the Senate President and Speaker of the House were Liberal Democrats?  Would we want them appointing a 5 member board for the purpose of distributing funds to various "Tea Parties?"

Not only does it go against our less government mantra but we should also be asking ourselves is it wise to have 5 people who have been appointed by 2 people distributing thousands of dollars to groups that they deem worthy of receiving the funds?

This is just unacceptable to me!

- This would take place through our state government!
- The 5 member board will be appointed by the Senate President and the House Speaker.
- The 5 member board being appointed for 5 years...this is almost as long as a ELECTED Senator.
- Only 3 of the board members have to review and approve applications for grants from this committee.
- This 5 member board will be the sole decision makers on who to give thousands of dollars to.
- Will have to report annually to the Senate President, House Speaker and Governor.

This is LUDICROUS!  We are fighting for LESS GOVERNMENT, NOT MORE!
Please call or email your Reps today and tell them to vote NO on SB1402!

Why do I need a board to make plates for my car? Doesn't the Sherriff Joe have prisoners for that? This is another garbage bill; please let me know who I need to not vote for on the next election.

Just be sure to contact ALL of the GOP State Reps, not just your own.  Not sure when this will be going to the floor for a vote so get your phone calls and emails to them.

And make sure that your fellow TEA party groups know about this!
